Check in to Xandari Resort and Spa (1 night).
Xandari Resort & Spa is a tropical paradise of 22 individually designed villas nestled on a 40 acre plantation overlooking the Central Valley of Costa Rica. At an elevation of 3900 feet (1200 meters), Xandari enjoys a near–perfect temperature of around 70 degrees Fahrenheit all year. Each spacious villa, surrounded by gardens, has a large view terrace for enjoying the sunset and lights of the valley at night, plus a walled–in terrace for privacy and solitude. The spa village is set in a tropical garden and includes 5 private palm–roofed jalapas with jacuzzis with a picturesque view of the Central Valley. Enjoy a massage, mud wrap, facial, and various exotic body treatments with a distinctive Costa Rican flavor.

Xandari Resort & Spa was named by World Travel Award as Costa Rica’s Leading Spa Resort. Xandari is dedicated to a comprehensive program to diminish the environmental impact of their hotel by returning much of the land to its original beauty. You can participate in this program by planting a tree. Over 4-kilometers of scenic trails through coffee and fruit orchards lead into a lush natural tropical setting with a year-round river and five beautiful waterfalls. Fruits, vegetables and herbs from the plantation's gardens complement Xandari's health-conscious specialty dishes. Add to this the warm personal attention of a dedicated staff... and it's simply paradise. Continental breakfast included.

Day Two
Check-out, you will be privately transferred to the Tobias Bolanos airport, the NatureAir terminal! The first and only carbon neutral airline in the world! Take a flight via NatureAir to Punta Islita located on the Pacific coast. Punta Islita is known for its pristine beach located on the Nicoya Peninsula. Plenty of activities in the area including horseback riding, hiking, kayaking, surfing, canopy tours, and more! Continental breakfast included. Hotel Punta Islita has pioneered a Responsible Tourism program that encourages the preservation of local cultures and rational use of natural resources. The hotel participates in the Costa Rican tourism board’s Certification in Sustainable Tourism program (CST). This initiative evaluates travel services companies according to their level of compliance with responsible tourism practices.

Osa Peninsula is in the southwest corner of the country, and somewhat separate from the mainland. This area is home to an area of immense biological diversity, much of it protected by Corcovado National Park and other conservation efforts in the area. Osa is home to more than 285 species of birds, 139 mammals and 116 amphibians as well as the Caño Island Biological Reserve. A private transfer will be awaiting your arrival to take you to the lodge.

Check in to Lapa Rios Rainforest Ecolodge (3 nights):

Set in a private nature reserve spread over 1,000 acres of Central America's last remaining lowland tropical rainforest in Costa Rica, Lapa Rios Ecolodge overlooks the pristine point where the Golfo Dulce meets the wild Pacific Ocean, making it the destination that matches every one's idea of paradise. Lapa Rios was built by John and Karen Lewis as a private nature reserve. A Minnesota couple driven by a vision, John and Karen liquidated all their assets to finance the purchase of a large tract of rainforest and to build the small supporting tourism project.

Today a conservation easement elaborated by The Nature Conservancy and Cederena ensure that this rainforest will be preserved into perpetuity. The Lapa Rios reserve is connected through a corridor with Corcovado National Park on the Osa Peninsula. Lapa Rios is built in harmony with the surrounding forest and beach environment. The main lodge and bungalows line three ridges connected by walking paths and steps. Built over 350 feet above the sea, Lapa Rios catches the cooling tropical breezes. The main lodge, housing the restaurant and bar, soars 50 feet and is built of local, natural materials. Palm thatched roofs meet a three-story hardwood circular stairway.
Climb to overlook the forest canopy and breathtaking ocean vistas. Comfortable, locally made bamboo furniture adds to relaxation in this tranquil panorama of nature.

Lapa Rios Ecolodge is more than just a beautiful rainforest hotel or eco resort next to the beach. Lapa Rios is a model Ecotourism project that strives to show that “a forest left standing is worth more than one cut down”. Besides winning awards from Conde Nast Traveler and being featured in many international publications, Lapa Rios is a pioneer in sustainable tourism employing only people from the local community and being committed to environmentally sound practices. Three extraordinary meals and non-alcoholic drinks included per day along with one guided tour.
