When to Go?

If you're into wild river runs then rafting in the wet season (June thru October) is definitely for you. But if you prefer a calmer ride you're better off hopping into a raft in the dry season (November to April). Some rivers are only open seasonally. Contact us for details.

Rafting-Costa-Rica

Pacuare River (class III - IV+)

The Pacuare River is one of the top rafting rivers in the world and it offers the perfect blend of nature and adventure. There are 52 rapids in all, but who's counting.  Rafters will pass by the beautiful 150' Huacas Waterfall and through pristine rain forest. Multi-day trips are available on the Pacuare. Sarapiqui River (class II - IV)

For a more challenging ride, come to Sarapiqui de Puerto Viejo where the Sarapiqui River offers world class rapids. The upper (IV) part of the river is for adrenaline junkies and lower sections (I & II - III) are a bit more mellow. However, a super tranquil safari adventure is available as well where you can see a multitude of wildlife:

Central Pacific

Naranjo River Chorro Section  (class IV January - May)

This is a seasonally run river (May - December) located near Manuel Antonio and is a non-stop action filled paddle. It is for experienced paddlers and hard-core adventure lovers only.

Savegre River Rafting class II, II and IV  (*)

Tours depart from Jaco, Los Suenos, Quepos and Manuel Antonio.

Arenal / La Fortuna Rafting-Costa-Rica
