Sample Itinerary 3 - Pura Vida!

Day 2: Arenal Adventures

  • Breakfast at your hotel
  • Explore, hike, rappel, get wet and get the adrenaline going on the Canyoneering Tour (or choice of any other tour in the Arenal / La Fortuna area). Imagine yourself in surrounded by lush rainforest atop a magical canyon; full of tropical waterfalls with surprises each step of the way. This great tour is for everyone with a sense of adventure.
  • In the evening, soak in the natural hot springs and enjoy a delicious dinner of typical food at the restaurant!

Day 3: Arenal & Monteverde

  • Breakfast at your hotel
  • In the morning you will travel in a non-traditional way from La Fortuna to Monteverde on a beautiful horseback riding tour. You will ride in a bus to the Arenal Lake and cross by boat, then spend a beautiful morning riding along Lake Arenal on well cared for and well-trained horses with your professional guides. You then travel for 1 hour by ground transportation to Monteverde with your luggage
  • In the early afternoon you will arrive to your lodge in Monteverde. Enjoy a quiet and relaxed afternoon in the bungalow-style bedrooms where you can appreciate the tranquil beauty of the surrounding gardens and forest. Lunch is available at the hotel restaurant

Day 4: Monteverde

  • Breakfast included at your lodge
  • Prepare to enjoy an exciting canopy tour and amazing suspension bridges. Both are a popular combination because these activities complement each other very well, part adventure part tranquil observation amidst the primary tropical cloud forest.
  • In addition, enjoy one of the world's largest private insect collections or a butterfly garden. Take a close look at thousands of insects, butterflies and other wonderful specimens from all over the world presented in a way never seen before anywhere else.

Day 5: Monteverde & Manuel Antonio

  • Breakfast included at your lodge
  • Shared tourist shuttle from Monteverde to your beautiful hotel in Manuel Antonio.
  • Enjoy a beautiful sunset sail on the beautiful central Pacific coast of Costa Rica.

Day 6: Manuel Antonio

  • Paddle through the smooth inland waterways kayaking (or via an ultra quiet motorized boat) on the Damas Island Estuary, one of the most unusual types of vegetation on the planet, and learn the importance of this delicate ecosystem. Mangroves thrive where the salt water of the ocean meets the fresh water of tropical rivers creating a periodically submerged forest of interlacing aerial roots.

Day 7: Manuel Antonio

  • Breakfast included at your hotel
  • Departure: Shared tourist shuttle from Manuel Antonio to the international airport for an afternoon or evening flight (please note, if your departure flight is in the morning, we will need to rework the itinerary to have you return to the Central Valley the afternoon of Day 6)

The total estimated cost per person for this exciting  7 day adventure including all lodging, transfers, tours, meals (where indicated) and  Tax starts at  $1250 per person (based on double occupancy). Please remember this is just a sample itinerary!
